The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) is hosting its annual conference of economic developers in Long Beach to discuss how economic developers can work with businesses to ensure economic success and community vitality. The conference will take place April 9-11, 2013 at the Long Beach Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Long Beach and will include opening remarks from the Long Beach Mayor, Bob Foster.
“We are excited to hear Mayor Foster’s perspective on local economic development challenges and opportunities and are eager to share information with our members on how to help businesses thrive in their communities,” said CALED President & CEO Gurbax Sahota. “We will discuss the pressing issues that businesses and economic developers face everyday, such as how to move projects forward with innovative public-private partnerships, how to market your economic development program, and what financing tools are available.”
The two and a half-day conference will include three tracks: Best Practices and Programs, Economic Development Financing, and Professional Development. Conference participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a pre-conference session on Property Management Plans, an Advancing Economic Development Expo, and a Culinary Crawl featuring three downtown restaurants.
